Be heard

The RCSLT is the professional body for speech and language therapy in the UK, representing speech and language therapists, support workers and students. The RCSLT works with members to represent the profession at the highest levels. It consults with governments, other professional bodies, unions, universities, charity partners and commissioning authorities on behalf of its members, so your views are heard where it counts. As a member, your views and experiences can help shape the development of future UK and international policy.

Find peace of mind

As with all healthcare professionals, it is essential you have adequate insurance cover in case you find yourself facing legal action. The RCSLT provides an insurance policy that indemnifies all its practising members in the UK, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. This covers proven liability arising from alleged professional negligence, breach of professional conduct and damage to property. Cover applies to RCSLT members who have paid their subscriptions for the period covered by the policy. Newly-qualified members are covered as soon as their application for membership is approved. The policy document containing precise terms of the cover arranged is available on request. For more information, tel: 020 7378 1200.

Get advice

The RCSLT Policy Team offers a confidential service when you need advice on professional and clinical issues. The Information Department can also help when you need information on good practice, careers, publications, signposting to other organisations and how to become an RCSLT adviser.
