- governments and others to shape policy so that issues concerning the profession are reflected in public policy and people with communication, eating, drinking or swallowing difficulties receive optimum care

- the value of a profession whose members deliver quality services to meet diverse needs
- the professional interests of speech and language therapists and support workers

- speech and language therapists professionally and academically, building our resource of professional expertise and leadership
