Welcome to our new blog page. Here, we hope to give you an insight into the work that our therapists do to help people with speech, language and communication needs each and every day. We also want to highlight the difference this work makes to the lives of those that receive it.
It is our belief that communication is a fundamental human right, and through this blog and our newly-launched campaign, we will ‘Give Voice’ to the thousands of people who do or could benefit from speech and language therapy. We intend to demonstrate the difference that effective speech and language provision offers to everyone –the individuals themselves, their carers and parents or the broader society.
It is well known that investment in speech and language therapy has a huge impact in opening up opportunities for people, helping to reduce anti-social behaviour and reducing the cost of long-term health and social care. Over the coming months we intend to tell the stories of those who have benefited, as well as our therapists and other advocates. All this will highlight the central role speech and language therapy plays in creating a better society.
