£15,000 award on offer for AHP innovators

The AHP awards programme


The competition for AHP innovators programme returns in early 2008 .
SLTs can join their allied health professional colleagues and enter their work in the second AHP annual awards programme, designed to champion innovation in the health service.

The UK Awards for allied health professionals and healthcare scientists, supported by the Department of Health and the Allied Health Professionals Federation, offer up to £15,000 in prize money.

The awards are designed to raise the profile of AHPs' contribution to patient care, showcase new ways of working and encourage team and partnership working.

Previous categories include:
  • Innovation in patient care or clinical services
  • Excellence in learning, teaching, development and mentorship
  • New ways of working and extending the boundaries
  • Excellence in management and leadership
  • Putting research into practice
  • Promoting health and well being in hard-to-reach communities
  • Working across boundaries
  • Improved patient care through the innovative use of IT.
Entries should be made online by individuals, small groups, a department, a hospital or a trust. Applicants are asked to describe their project in no more than 500 words.

The closing date is TBC and shortlisted applicants will be asked to present to a judging panel.
