DH, BMA RCN humanitarian project funding available

The Department of Health, British Medical Association and Royal College of Nursing have made available a fund to cover incidental expenses of NHS healthcare teams undertaking international humanitarian projects.

• Following an increase in the number of applications over recent years the decision has been taken to only accept applications from projects or individuals who have received fewer than two awards from the Fund in prior years.
• The closing dates for applications is 5pm on the 8th February 2008
• The maximum award the Fund is able to make to an individual project is £3000.
• Email applications would be preferable - a copy of the application form in Word format can be downloaded from the BMA website
• Applications are welcomed from both individuals and teams. We are particularly keen to encourage applications from multidisciplinary teams who reflect the skills and experience offered by individuals working within the NHS. All successful applicants are required to submit a report of their visit
