Improvements in stroke care


The 2008 saw the RCSLT focus on the improvement of speech and languge therapy services available to stroke survivors with communication difficulties.

Groundbreaking surveys across all four UK countries showed the real-life experiences of stroke survivors and formed a powerful tool with which to lobby governments.

Children and young people with communication needs


In July 2008, John Bercow, MP, launched the report of his review into the services for children and
young people (0-19) with speech, language and communication needs.

The RCSLT played a key role in the review and continues to work to improve these essential services.
