Consultation on children and young people’s services in Scotland
22/05/06
The Scottish Executive has published Delivering a Healthy Future: An Action Framework for Children and Young People's Health in Scotland, A Draft for Consultation. All those working in children and young people's services will be affected by this document. This document represents the implementation of Delivering for Health for children and young people's services in Scotland - it spells out the direction of services, how services are to be organised and how the workforce will be developed in the future. The Executive is asking key stakeholders to consult on this draft strategy.
The RCSLT is responding in two ways:
- Circulating information widely to all relevant members in
Scotland: we are encouraging speech and language therapy departments,
advisers and SIGs to take this opportunity to respond to this
consultation (see documents below). Please forward a copy of any
response you make to Scotland Policy Officer Kim Hartley, so the RCSLT can collate information. The closing date for responses to the Executive is 7 July 2006.
- Generating an RCSLT response in consultation with members in Scotland. We are seeking volunteers for a working group comprised of speech and language therapy leads, HEI representatives, SLTs, relevant advisers, SIG members and members of CYPC in Scotland. Please email Kim Hartley if you are interested.
