Better coronary heart disease and stroke care: a consultation document

The RCSLT is seeking responses to the paper, Better coronary heart disease and stroke care: a consultation document.

This aims to identify how stroke services can be improved to contribute to the revised CHD and stroke strategy, which will be published later this year.

It aims to bring a fresh focus to what is needed to tackle CHD and stroke across Scotland and further reduce CHD and stroke deaths.

This is a very important policy for SLTs in Scotland. It focuses on issues such as the support required for people after a stroke. However, there are gaps in the document, for example there is a lack of mention of AHPs and it is quite acute / medical care focused.

Comment is welcome on the approaches described in this document, identifying other opportunities or by describing the actions you would like to see prioritised over the next few years.

You can also provide personal experiences of care and examples of best practice from Scotland or elsewhere in the world.

Get involved in this consultation by sending your comments to Claire Moser and contribute to the RCSLT's professional response.

The deadline for your comments to RCSLT is 08 October 2008.
