Membership and communication Board member vacancies

The RCSLT Membership and Communications Board has two vacancies for enthusiastic members - one from Northern Ireland and a support worker - who are keen to influence the development of speech and language therapy in the UK.

This M&C Board aims to create a consistent approach to:
  • The development of a communications strategy and communications plan, which will determine the RCSLT's approach to communicating with members, officers and other customers and stakeholders
  • Research that informs the development of the communications strategy and communications activities
  • Membership development
  • Customer care - dealing with enquiries from members
  • Development of the RCSLT brand and the development of media relations strategy in support of the overarching RCSLT communications strategy
  • Supporting the development of networks of members and key stakeholder groups that will inform the development of communication programmes, information services, the RCSLT's policy and CPD initiatives
  • Income generated through RCSLT events and publications
  • Production of RCSLT publications and the dissemination of professional and policy information
  • The organisation of RCSLT events and attendance at events supported by the RCSLT

The Board is looking for members who have:

  • Enthusiasm for the new direction the RCSLT is taking as regards communicating with members and other customers
  • Enthusiasm for and experience of networking and clear opportunity to identify and work with networks of members
  • Evidence of knowledge about the interests and communication needs of members from their own context
  • An interest in the RCSLT's corporate image and of services and products the RCSLT produces

Board meetings take place four times a year, normally at the RCSLT headquarters in London, but may occasionally in other parts of the country with the board's agreement.
