As part of the Government's response to the Bercow Review, the Department for Children, Schools and Families is rolling out its £40 million Every Child a Talker (ECaT) programme to provide training and support to the pre-school workforce in speech and language development and needs.

Fifty-one local authorities will participate in the first wave, with the other LAs coming on board within two years.

As SLTs will be heavily involved in this work, the RCSLT has established a mailing list of members involved in the first wave or likely to be involved in the later roll out.
