Background
The event is one of two RCSLT AHP Leadership events in 2008.
May 2008 event objective:
To define excellent leadership connections that deliver the best results for patients by optimising uni and multi-professional leads added value. A post conference pack was produced including
- Consensus framework of "Excellent leadership connections" based on workshops, including examples of added value, contacts etc. It is hoped this will be a valuable reference point for uni and multi- professional AHP leads at all levels across Scotland.
- Description of leadership skills set and sign posts to resources for self - assessment and development.
Autumn / Winter 2008 event objective:
This event focused on influencing at a local level including topics such as - Policy, how it is developed and by whom; Negotiation and influencing skills; Writing to influence and Using evidence to influence.
Events have been designed by Kim Hartley (RCSLT) and discussed and agreed with the following parties. The programme encompasses the objectives of all these stakeholders.
- Scottish SLT Managers and Leads Network (SSLTMN)
- Scottish Govt. Chief Health Professions Officer
- Scotland member on RCSLT Management Board
- Chair of Scottish (AHP) Therapy Managers Network (STMN)
The target audience of around 60 (for May event) included current and emerging leaders from across the AHPs, AHP multi-professional leaders and other local management decision makers.
