The RCSLT National Student Day was held on Saturday 10 March at Manchester Metropolitan University. This exciting event offered an interesting and interactive series of professional workshops and presentations and tell you more about the role of your professional body.

It focused on some of the opportunities a career in speech and language therapy can offer, as well as recent therapy approaches currently being researched and undertaken by practising SLTs.

RCSLT Chair Rosalind Rogers was there along with RCSLT staff, so delegates had the opportunity to find out exactly how the RCSLT is continuing to raise the profile of the profession nationally.

Sessions included:
  • Interactive workshops on current 'hot topics' within the profession
  • A newly- qualified SLT, sharing her experiences on the transition from student to newly-qualified practitioner
  • A speech and language therapy manager, presenting interview tips and what managers look for when recruiting SLTs
