RCSLT President George Cox (pictured) received a knighthood in the Queen's Birthday Honours list announced on 11 June.

Sir George told the RCSLT, "I felt very honoured indeed to be awarded my knighthood. Although it was cited as being for services to business, I like to think that it reflects my wider range of interests.

"Like an increasing number of business people nowadays, I am very keen to put my experience to wider use, and I feel very privileged to be involved with the College."

Sir George has been RCSLT President since October 2004. He has also been Chairman of the Design Council since 2004, and previously held the post of Director General of the Institute of Directors. He has spent most of his business career in IT, becoming UK Chairman of Unisys and heading its European service-based businesses.
