Risk assessment

Risk assessments should be used to illustrate what will happen if your service is cut back. This can be a very persuasive and informative tool that can help you to communicate the value of SLT services to commissioners and others.

You will already have evidence - primarily in your quantitative measures - that will enable you to identify the impact of cutting staff and/or budgets on your clients and patients. You should draw attention to this impact on services and illustrate it with evidence. It may also help you to draw on independent evidence of the risks of not providing SLT and we have provided here some references and information here that you may find useful.
