RCSLT specific interest groups

Many therapists see membership of specific interest groups (SIGs) - local regional or national groups based around a common theme or specialty - as an important part of their continuing professional development.

Each SIG is unique in its formation, the style of its meetings and its agenda. However, it is important that they operate in a professional manner and demonstrate value in professional development and training.

In the interests of quality assurance, as well as improving information to members, the RCSLT encourages SIGs to register with the college.

To ensure consistency across the UK and Eire:

  • The RCSLT holds a database of registered SIG details
  • SIGs must register on an annual basis (in line with their AGM)
  • SIGs will receive a registration number to be quoted in correspondence
  • Registered SIGs are entitled to a free advert in the Bulletin
  • The RCSLT will send a re-registration form and annual report guidelines to all registered SIGs. Failure to submit an annual report and the completed re-registration form by the given date will mean the SIG is no longer registered and its details will be removed from the database.

The RCSLT is offering SIGs some some general guidance on financial matters, including managing and keeping records of the group's finances.

To advertise your SIG notices in the Bulletin see the SIG deadlines for 2009 and template and send your adverts by email before the deadline date.

Re-registration deadline:
