The aim of this project is to review and update existing RCSLT information and resources about learning disabilities and the role of speech and language therapy.

The project objectives and final outputs will be agreed at the first project meeting, but generally will:

  • Provide a ‘one stop shop’ for SLTs to find information on learning disabilities.
  • Provide and collate best practice guidance for SLTs working in learning disabilities.
  • Define the role and scope of practice of SLTs within learning disabilities.
  • Identify workforce and staffing requirements in learning disabilities.
  • Promote the SLT role within learning disabilities to external stakeholders.
  • Update existing RCSLT position paper and web content
