Scottish Government / RCSLT Communication Summit was held on Wednesday 26th October 2016, Edinburgh.

Cross-sector and cross-agency leaders gathered to focus on the intergenerational cycle of speech, language and communication (SLC) capacity and SLC as a key social and economic asset.

Speech and language and communication capacity - a national asset

Scotland’s Deputy First Minister and Cabinet Secretary for Education and Skills, John Swinney MSP, requested an Action Plan for systemic change and growth of Scotland’s speech, language and communication assets.

RCSLT members and staff will be working in partnership with government officials, people who have lived experience of SLC needs, parents and all the agencies in a position to influence the intergenerational cycle to produce a transformative plan for Scotland’s children, young people, communities and nation.
