Giving Voice to looked after children

Do you work with looked after children?  Do you know about the work of Virtual School Heads in supporting looked after children? Take part in the RCSLT’s and National Association of Virtual School Heads’ joint webinar, to learn about the work of Virtual School Heads and how speech and language therapists are working with them to help children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.

The webinar will be chaired by Derek Munn, Director of Policy and Public Affairs at the RCSLT, and will feature presentations by:

  • Jane Pickthall, Chair, National Association of Virtual School Heads
  • Ellen Adams, SLT, Children’s Integrated Service for Hackney and the City


Learning objectives

After attending the webinar, delegates will:

  • Have an increased awareness of the role of Virtual School Heads in promoting the educational achievement of looked after children in England
  • Have a greater understanding of looked after children’s communication needs and how speech and language therapists can work with Virtual School Heads to meet those needs
  • Be familiar with a good local practice example where the Virtual School Head is working with speech and language therapy services
