Language Launchpad Project launched in Northern Ireland

6 May 2025

RCSLT have today launched the Language Launchpad report and resources in Northern Ireland.

RCSLT are delighted to officially launch the Language Launchpad project in Northern Ireland. This initiative, funded by the Department of Education, aims to provide universal support for speech, language, and communication development for children across Northern Ireland.

The Language Launchpad report unveils findings of a nationwide survey and the subsequent resources developed by community and statutory partners Help Kids Talk. These high-quality, engaging materials are designed to be practical, accessible, and valuable for anyone caring for or working with babies and young children.

The project was launched at the Long Gallery at Stormont, and we were honoured to have sponsor and Minister for Education of Northern Ireland, Paul Givan, formally open the event, and Minister of Health for Northern Ireland, Mike Nesbitt, address attendees. Their presence highlights the significance of this project and underscores the value of cross-departmental collaboration.

Language Launchpad stands as a strong example of what can be achieved when sectors come together with a shared vision – to improve outcomes for children and families through early and effective support.
