We’re developing a new and improved CPD diary for members

25 November 2025

The RCSLT are developing a new CPD diary due to launch in 2026.

We know how important the CPD diary is in supporting speech and language therapists with their professional development, at all stages of their career. While we’ve made some minor improvements recently, we also recognise that the current system is no longer fit for purpose.

That’s why we’ve begun work on a major new project to develop a completely new CPD diary – one that better meets members’ needs and makes it easier to record, reflect on and evidence your learning. The new system is due to launch in 2026.

We have been reaching out to members to get your feedback in terms of the changes you’d most like to see. From our member survey and a series of one-to-one member interviews, we’ve already had lots of helpful insights.

For example, many of you have told us that it would be helpful if the diary worked better on a smartphone for better ‘on-the-go’ recording. You’d like more flexibility and better presentation in the exportable diary format. And some have suggested that notifications or reminders from the diary would be helpful too.

In the coming weeks, there will be more opportunities for you to share your views on what you’d like to see from the new CPD diary, including at an online lunchtime session at our RCSLT Conference on 26–27 November

Your feedback will be crucial in shaping a tool that truly supports you in your career.

Because we’re focusing our time and resources on developing the new system, we won’t be making any further improvements to the current CPD diary. It will, however, remain available in its existing form until the new version is ready.

We appreciate your patience as we work to deliver a new CPD diary that better serves you and your professional development.
