Young SLTs final year students needed to help promote SLT to teens in England

The Health Careers team at Health Education England are currently working on a marketing campaign to increase the number of applications to the allied health professions, including speech and language therapy, through Clearing 2018 and UCAS 2019 in England among 16-18 year-olds.

They are searching for young, passionate speech and language therapists to be campaign ambassadors. You’ll need to be in your early to mid-20s, so you will probably be either newly-qualified or in your last year of training. Diversity is also important in respect of gender and ethnic background. But most of all you need to be passionate about what you do and want to inspire the next generation!

Being a campaign ambassador could mean a variety of things. A few things you could get involved with are below:

  • Posting your real-life story on the Health Careers website
  • Using your photo in creative assets, social media posts and digital advertising, etc.
  • Talking directly to potential students on social media about your profession and answering their questions

At this stage, HEE are looking for expressions of interest, and they will discuss with you how you could get involved.

Please emailĀ Darren.Aldrich@hee.nhs.uk, if you are interested.
