Supporting service users to understand their choices around eating and drinking is a key part of the SLT’s role. In 2021, we published guidance to support members’ understanding of how they can work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support service users who are eating and drinking with acknowledged risk (EDAR).
After three years we are taking a moment to consider how this guidance is being utilised and what questions and further learning is needed.
We will be holding a webinar where you will have the opportunity to hear from the lead author, Dharinee Hansjee, and KC Alex Ruck-Keene who will discuss the guidance and the impact of a recent high profile legal case with opportunities to submit questions to the speakers and learn more about EDAR.
By attending the webinar, delegates will:
- Understand the purpose and intricacies of the ‘Eating and Drinking with Acknowledged Risks’ (EDAR) guidance
- Understand the impact of current high-profile cases on staff and patients
- Be able to ask specific questions to the panel
