We’re seeking your views on our new pre-registration curriculum guidance alongside updates to learning placements information.
We’ve been reviewing our guidance for universities that provide speech and language therapy training programmes, to help ensure that graduates are leaving their education with the right skills and knowledge to kick start their careers.
Our curriculum review is producing new curriculum guidance which includes information to help align curriculums to our professional development framework, which is designed to support practitioners throughout the breadth of their careers.
We’re also planning to update our learning placement guidance with additional information to reflect the changing landscape and scope of practice since it’s last update in 2021. The updated draft guidance includes highlighted sections to indicate where new information has been added including guidance around simulated placements and how these can be used to support learning.
University staff have had the opportunity to review an earlier version of the draft and we’re now opening the opportunity to feedback on the plans to all our members and students themselves. To share your opinions on the future of speech and language therapy education, download our draft documents and complete our surveys.
