Molly is a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist, working within Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching hospitals. Having graduated from the University of Manchester in July 2026, she is currently developing her clinical skills within an acute setting. Her current caseload includes acute stroke management, neurodegenerative conditions, acute medicine and learning disability, providing experience across a variety of communication and swallowing difficulties.
Molly particularly enjoys the variety of working as an SLT and the opportunity to support people with complex and changing communication and swallowing needs. Her role has allowed her to begin to develop her clinical reasoning and collaborative working, while exploring the functional benefits of SLT intervention.
During her final year at university, Molly completed an internship exploring service-learning and volunteering opportunities for students in and around Greater Manchester, working with local charities and organisations to expand access to these opportunities. This internship also led to the opening of the on-campus ‘Connections Café’ a group for adults with a range of communication difficulties to interact with others, work on their skills, and provide students with a safe space to learn from those who are experts by experience.
Molly is passionate about sharing her experiences as a newly qualified therapist and encouraging students and other NQPs to embrace the breadth of opportunities available within speech and language therapy. She is particularly interested in the transition from student to clinician and in contributing to a profession where learning, collaboration and curiosity will continue throughout her career.
