Nkechi Obikudu is a Newly Qualified Speech and Language Therapist, having recently completed her BSc in Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Greenwich. During her studies, she developed a particular interest in paediatrics, bilingualism and speech development in children, with a growing passion for supporting children and families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
Beyond her clinical training, Nkechi has actively sought opportunities to develop her leadership skills and broaden her experience of working with children. She previously established and ran her own childminding service and currently leads the children’s team for a charity in London. These experiences have strengthened her interest in creating environments where children can communicate, participate and thrive.
Nkechi’s RCSLT Student Leadership Placement further developed her confidence and understanding of leadership within the profession. As she begins her SLT career, she hopes to bring together her interests in paediatrics, bilingualism, leadership and advocacy to make a meaningful contribution to children, families and the wider profession.
