The RCSLT Student to NQP Learning Day (previously known as RCSLT National Student Study Day) will take place Thursday 5 December 2024, 09:30-14.00 (timings may be subject to change).
The day is aimed at penultimate and final year students to help with life after graduation, job applications, interviews and getting to grips with what’s expected as an NQP.
By attending the RCSLT Student to NQP Learning Day 2024, delegates will:
- Understand which essential skills and knowledge will be in demand in the future
- Hear from managers recruiting newly qualified practitioners about what they are looking for in NQPs
- Get practical tips from NQPs on finding your first role, and adapting to life as an SLT
- Hear experiences from colleagues working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Take advantage of a unique networking opportunity to help you begin your journey in the profession

The RCSLT Student to NQP Learning Day 2024 is sponsored by Elklan.
Elklan provides effective and accessible training to ensure everyone in a child’s network can support children’s speech, language and communication. The training courses equip practitioners with the knowledge and practical strategies to identify and address communication needs. Elklan methods are used within the whole classroom, rather than being standalone interventions. As a result, they enhance the communication skills of all children, especially those with communication needs.
We have established a national network of over 4,500 Speech and Language Therapists and Specialist Teachers trained as Elklan Tutors, who have delivered courses to more than 85,000 educational practitioners.
