Thomas Deakin is a second-year English with Film Studies undergraduate at Kings' College London, where he also serves as a Culture Editor and journalist for the student publication Roar News. Born and raised in Cambridge before moving to London in 2025 for his studies, he underwent an awake craniotomy surgery in May 2026 and received speech and language therapy before and after this surgery, which helped identify that he had a benign cavernoma in the Wernicke's area of his brain.
