5 October 2021

The RCSLT’s first-ever fully virtual conference begins today, showcasing the best of the profession through three days of keynotes, presentations and posters.

More than 1,100 delegates will log in to attend the event virtually from locations all across the UK and the world – making this our largest and most international conference to date.

The theme is ‘Breaking barriers and building better’, with a focus on the innovation and resilience demonstrated by the speech and language therapy profession over the past two years, particularly in the context of COVID-19. A wide range of clinical and professional topics will be covered, ensuring that each delegate has a valuable learning and networking experience, regardless of their background or area of practice.

Keynote speakers include Professor Harsha Kathard from the University of Cape Town on advancing inclusion through professional practices; Justin Roe, Grainne Brady and Bev Fitzsimons from the Point of Care foundation on co-design in theory and practice; and Professor Michael West CBE from Lancaster University on compassionate leadership.

Look out for selected conference resources, recordings and learning materials on the RCSLT website after the event.
